About Ai

Meet Ai, the Japanese industrial designer and founder of AIIM STUDIO. She believes in a simple but powerful philosophy: "Good design is honest". Her career began in Copenhagen, where she was deeply inspired by the minimal and functional style of Scandinavian design.

Operating since 2013, AIIM STUDIO is a global design consulting agency, providing multidisciplinary expertise spanning industrial design, architectural design, UI/UXI design, and creative direction. She collaborated with leading organizations, including Google and various startups worldwide, to bring inspiring concepts to life.

Most recently, Ai worked as a Senior Industrial design lead for Amazon, the Ring organization. She has led and shipped multiple flagship products, including Outdoor Camera Plus (2025), Battery Doorbell (2024), and Pet Tag (2023). She played a key role in the design refresh initiative, which led to the September 2025 launch of the Wired Doorbell Pro. This contribution was so impactful that it earned her a promotion in 2024.

Previously Ai worked as a Principal Industrial Designer at Verizon in their new product development team, where she drove new product development efforts, leading industrial design, creative direction of various IoT devices - wearable, home products, AR, and tracking devices.

In the past, Ai was featured in the publication, Star Product Designers (Harper Design and LOFT Publications) as the lead designer of Lumigon's T2, an android enabled high-end Danish smartphone. T2 was featured on Engadget, CNN Tech News, and chosen as “Best Phones of MWC 2012” by The Gadget Websites.

Ai holds a Master of Architecture from UCLA and previously worked as an architectural designer at several firms, including Gensler. Her multidisciplinary background and experience living in four different countries (Japan, the USA, Denmark, and China) have profoundly shaped her approach to product design
